MELLOW YELLOW CROP TOP PATTERN

This summery top will have you feeling mellow. The lightweight cotton yarn feels dreamy in the heat and looks adorable over a bikini, sports bra, or bandeau!

I finally finished this design this week and had a chance to wear it out to the beach this weekend! I loved the feel of the soft cotton and was comfortable hiking and lounging in this top. It is versatile and ready to wear wherever you’re headed this weekend!

4 FAVORITE CROCHET PROJECTS ON THE ROAD

Four DIY crochet projects for the road! I designed these projects while we were living #vanlife and still use them today.

The year we spent on the road I began my journey into designing my own crochet patterns. We had free time in the evenings and on rest days, and it was the perfect creative pursuit for me to engage in. I especially enjoyed sitting in a camp chair in a new place, looking around at the desert beauty, and imagining what new project I could crochet. I crocheted much more than I ever had before, and learned so many new skills, and became much more consistent in my stitches and tension. Below are some of my favorite projects I designed on the road, and all are things I am still using regularly!

SIMPLE PAN HANDLE PATTERN

This simple, but bright pan handle will dress up your pans and keep your hands from burning while cooking. It is easy to adjust the length for different sized pans and works up quickly!

This pattern is one of the first crochet projects I designed on our #vanlife trip. This Simple Pan Handle cover was indispensable for our cast iron pan –  the main stay of our mobile kitchen. I loved the pop of color and how easy it made cooking in the confined space of our mini-van! I hope you enjoy it too.

Octavia is just the start of a series of brightly and beautifully made chalk bags I have coming. She works up quickly with bulky yarn and simple stitches. The legs are incredibly easy and so fun to make! Plus I got to take her outside for a local multi-pitch climb and she did wonderfully!

SUNSET WALL HANGING PATTERN

Add a splash of color to your walls with a simple, but beautiful and unique wall hanging.

I managed to plan out this design and get a start on crocheting this newest creation during our climbing trip this past week in the Sawtooth Wilderness. Rest days and evenings can be productive too! Being out in the incredible scenery and sitting next to an alpine lake is a wonderful place to find renewed creativity.
