SOUNDTRACK TO LIFE ON THE ROAD

When living on the road, you end up spending a lot of time driving and listening to music. After a year of #vanlife we found that these were our 6 favorite albums.

Some places that we traveled to during our year on the road were remote and far out of cell range. Thus enter an old iPod packed with music from our college years. We would sometimes be out of service range for weeks (this was especially true in Baja California) and would survive the long days of driving with this loaded iPod. 9 THINGS WE COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT ON THE ROAD

All things we could NOT live without on the road! Find out what items were most useful when living in our van for a year and how you can pack for your own #vanlife adventure!

We definitely lived a minimalist life on the road; we bought a used mini-van, finished it out with a cheap futon, and packed everything on in!

OCTAVIA OCTOPUS CHALK BAG PATTERN

Make everyone at the crag jealous with your new handmade Octavia chalk bag! I just love how unique and lovely this project came out and I get so many comments at the gym asking where I bought it. Make your own and get out climbing, before the summer’s over!

Octavia is just the start of a series of brightly and beautifully made chalk bags I have coming. She works up quickly with bulky yarn and simple stitches. The legs are incredibly easy and so fun to make! Plus I got to take her outside for a local multi-pitch climb and she did wonderfully!

THE VAN SET-UP

We lived out of our Toyota Sienna mini-van for 12 months! Many people wondered how we did it. Mostly they wanted to know how we didn’t murder each other in the confined space! Learn how we [cheaply] built our van out for a year of #vanlife for very little cost and maximum fun.
