OCTAVIA OCTOPUS CHALK BAG PATTERN

Make everyone at the crag jealous with your new handmade Octavia chalk bag! I just love how unique and lovely this project came out and I get so many comments at the gym asking where I bought it. Make your own and get out climbing, before the summer’s over!

Octavia is just the start of a series of brightly and beautifully made chalk bags I have coming. She works up quickly with bulky yarn and simple stitches. The legs are incredibly easy and so fun to make! Plus I got to take her outside for a local multi-pitch climb and she did wonderfully!

This chalk bag is a redesigned version of a special octopus-shaped chalk bag I made for my mother-in-law, who also climbs. The original Octavia was a little heavy, due to her long swinging arms. So for this updated pattern, I shortened the legs and found a bulky, tough yarn to use that would stand up to the rough and tussle of outdoor climbing! Of course, googley eyes are always a win!

-Anything else you can think of!
