This Amabie amigurumi is an ancient Japanese spirit said to cure pandemics such as Covid-19. So crochet more Amabies and spread her healing power around!

This is quite the departure from the usual patterns I design geared toward wearables and the outdoors, but I was just so inspired by a recent 99 Percent Invisible podcast episode, that I had to create my own Amabie.

TWIN SISTERS BEANIE PATTERN

A lightweight wool beanie that is perfect for the autumn season; chevron shapes represent local mountain ranges and the ribbing keeps it comfy and cozy.

This beanie was inspired by our local mountains, the Twin Sisters. Mountains that I have now climbed and backpacked around numerous times. I love the beauty of where I live, and love to model my makes after natural scenery. That’s why it was a no-brainer to make this mountain beanie after our local Twin Sister mountain range. I am so happy with how it came out!
