It is always amazing to me how such simple stitches can become such a hilarious shape! I saw this adorable little amigurumi eggplant pattern by Ollie + Holly and knew I needed to make a chalk bag version! I am really on a roll here with veggie chalk bags, though I want to make a departure back into fruit and work up a banana next. The sky is the limit when it comes to cute and funky chalk bag patterns!

SUNFLOWER CHALK BUCKET PATTERN

Wow, was this a fun little pattern to design! A textured, lightweight sweater made with squishy mohair yarn and a super-easy design. Of course I made my kitty a matching version and he loves it!

I have been dying to create a sweater out of this electric blue mohair yarn every since I got my hands on it! The color, the texture, the squish. It’s all been calling to me from it’s special spot on my yarn shelves. For this special pattern, I was inspired by the horizontal ribbing from my Muir Chalk Bag Pattern and created this delicious sweater using it.

I have always loved veggies more than fruit. From just a little girl, broccoli has been one of my favorite foods and I generally don’t eat any fruit at all. Weird, huh?

My least favorite thing about crocheting is my yarn waste. Yarn production (both natural fibers and man-made fibers) utilizes a lot of water, resources, and energy, and can have a negative effect on the environment. I am intentionally working to decrease my waste and focus on re-using and recycling my yarn. One of the ways I do this is accurately measuring my yarn needed before purchasing and checking my own stash before hitting my local JOANNs. However, sometimes you just have leftovers! Whether they are big or small, I came up with five ways to re-use these scraps and give them new life, without the guilt of throwing them away.

Now I can carry my can of La Croix easily on my bike, while also increasing my bike’s reflectivity/safety all at once!

Ever since I started crocheting, and especially since I started designing, I have dreamed of working with huge yarn like the Couture Jazz jumbo yarn I used in this pattern. As you might guess, working with big yarn like this is fast! You will love how quickly your project progresses and seeing all the standard crochet stitches enlarged.
