WILD YARNING | HOW TO COMBINE NATURE WITH YOUR CRAFT

I am passionate about inspiring others to find their creative niche and connect it to nature. The reason I started my blog was to inspire other makers to take their makes into the outdoors; to feel the peace and energy that I feel when I am outside. My goal is to spread the word that nature and yarn combine beautifully and anyone can join in – whether you look out the window while crocheting, create a warm hat to hike in, or climb a mountain with your yarn in your pack. I want to create a community around this idea, so I started the hashtag #wildyarning to get this rolling and am so excited to see people participating. I want everyone to have fun, both creating their makes and then taking them outside!

LUMINOUS LEG WARMERS PATTERN

Enjoy evening walks? Bike home from work? Just enjoy surprising everyone when the flash is on for a picture? Then give this awesome carry-along yarn a try and make yourself some cozy and reflective leg warmers for those chilly, dark mornings and evenings.

The secret to a pair of luminous leg warmers? A carry-along reflective thread! What is a carry-along thread? It is when you crochet with two strands of fiber as if they are one. Check out Kreinik’s Reflective Yarn and turn any crocheted, knit, or woven piece of clothing into a nighttime safety garment! (Please make sure this is NOT the only thing you will wear at night for safety – get some lights and reflectors too!) You will not believe how bright your hats, cowls, and leg warmers can be with this simple addition to your projects.
