I have been playing around with Red Heart’s Reflective Yarn for the past month and LOVING all the outdoor oriented pattern possibilities! I had already been wanting, for quite some time, to design a bike-compatible koozie and realized I finally had the perfect yarn for the job. Now I can carry my can of La Croix easily on my bike, while also increasing my bike’s reflectivity/safety all at once!

DESCRIPTION
This quick and easy pattern is perfect for your drink carrying needs! You need only know how to single crochet to create one for yourself. Strap it on your bike and easily transport your cans around town. Fill it with La Croix like me (I mean how long can you go without needing a La Croix fix?!), a can of beer, or narrow water bottle! The reflective yarn will stand out in headlights and street lights and help keep you lit up and safe on the road.
MATERIALS
- Red Heart Reflective Yarn (Weight: 5/bulky – 88 yds, 100 g) in two colors, less than 50 g of yarn used in total.
- Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
- 2 half-inch Buttons
ABBREVIATIONS
- ch: chain
- st: stitch
- sc: single crochet
DIRECTIONS
koozie
This bag is worked in the round. Join each row by slip stitching into the first stitch at the end of each row.
(Wondering what the checkboxes are for? Check out this tutorial and make online patterns easier to follow!)
Magic Circle
Change colors
Fasten off and weave in ends.
STRAPS(2)
Make one in each color.
ch 4
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Repeat for second strap.
ASSEMBLY
Sew one strap high and one strap low; each with a corresponding button sewn on. If you find the button is not enough to hold your koozie in place, then you can sew the straps down on both sides and thread velcro or a strap through them, around your bike’s stem and back to the koozie.
Pop this baby on your bike and ride off into the sunset, armed with your can of La Croix!
