I just completed an outdoorsy design for Darn Good Yarn using their Cotton T-Shirt Yarn! It’s made from reclaimed and recycled cotton t-shirt material and it’s so soft! You can get the link to the free pattern here on my blog. Don’t forget to check out the interview I did with Darn Good Yarn as well!
I was so excited when I discovered Darn Good Yarn and their ethics around sustainability in sourcing fiber materials and fair wages and benefits for their workers. Do you know where your yarn comes from? Who handles it? How they are treated and what their work environment is like? Darn Good Yarn has created a business around thinking about these questions and providing ethical and sustainable answers. I feel that I am making a difference when I use yarn from Darn Good Yarn and I love that feeling. They even partner with a non-profit to provide jobs to adults with developmental disabilities, a cause near and dear to my heart.

DESCRIPTION
These 9 inch by 6 inch fanny packs fit your phone, keys, wallet and a protein bar – what more do you need for an afternoon of exploration? This design uses Darn Good Yarn Cotton T-shirt Yarn. What a dream to work with! Soft and cozy, but tough and washable. I got to take this little make outside here in Utah and properly use it biking in Zion National Park!
This pack is crocheted from the zipper down and the pattern includes a tutorial on how to crochet off of the zipper. Make this pack in broad stripes or with Darn Good Yarn’s variegated Cotton T-shirt Yarn for a swirl motif.
Don’t be afraid to take the fanny pack out for a spin! A walk down to the park, a hike, a bike ride, outdoors yoga; whatever you’re doing and wherever you’re going you will be ready for action with your new Colorblock Fanny Pack.
