SLITHERY SNAKE YARN BOMB PATTERN

The Slithery Snake Yarn Bomb! Leave this little guy someplace where others will discover it and brighten their day. Though using it to yarn bomb is optional, it is pretty cute on its own!

This little snake is cute, bright, and tough. I used Bernat Maker Home Dec Yarn so that the snake could stand up to weathering. It is incredibly easy to customize the length to whatever you are choosing to yarn bomb; just crochet more or less rows on the body and pre-measure your intended yarn bomb target.

The yarn bomb heart that inspired it all!

I was inspired to create this yarn bomb by another, ancient yarn bomb heart I found in the woods. I loved finding this little piece of crocheted art and thought it was beautiful how the lichen had grown all around it. I chose to place my snake just under this heart to leave my own legacy behind. I hope others find it and experience the joy I did when I saw the heart, deep in the woods on a walk.

I designed this to be a yarn bomb, however the little snake turned out adorable on its own! For those that want to keep or gift their crocheted makes, rather than setting them free in the wild, there is always the option of not sewing yours to a tree or lamppost.

DESCRIPTION

This slithery little snake can be used to yarn bomb your neighborhood or as a toy or decoration in your home. The snake’s tail and body are crocheted in the round, but are not stuffed and instead left flat. I created a snake that is ~18 inches long, but you may easily customize this length to suit your needs. The head and eyes are stuffed, making the head pop out from the body and giving it a cute cartoon look.

Tightly sew the tongue to the middle of the head, where you cinched it closed. Sew the eyes next to each other, just above the tongue.

Grab your finishing needle, main color of yarn, and some scissors and head to your yarn bomb destination to attach your little snake and show the world your yarn bomb!
