I finished this project just in time for our climbing trip this week! I am, of course, taking along my current work in progress and now have the perfect pouch to store my crochet tools and materials.
The pouch uses less than a single skein of yarn, only uses single crochet stitches, and works up in a blink! Bonus: it fits pens and pencils for other hobbies and pouch needs; just in time for back-to-school!

DESCRIPTION
This zippered travel pouch will have you easily crocheting on your next road trip, while you’re sitting at the beach, or wherever you adventure. Its small size means you can grab and go, while it still fits multiple crochet hooks, yarn needles, safety pins, safety scissors, and measuring tape! At least, those are my go-to travel needs when crocheting away from the comforts of my couch. It is also perfect for gifts as kids are headed back to school!

DIRECTIONS
The ends of this pouch are worked in the round. The body of the bag is then worked flat and sewed onto the round ends. The zipper is added afterwards.
Round Ends (make two):
This piece is worked in the round. You will join each row with a slip stitch and start each row with a chain.

Make sure the long side of your rectangle will span the circumference of your round side pieces! If not, add or subtract rows as needed.
Finish off and weave in ends.
Assembly
Sew the two round ends to the rectangular body piece. I simply inserted my hook through both pieces and slip stitched around to secure the two together.
Cut your zipper to about 8 inches, or the length of your pouch opening. There will be instructions on your zipper on how to shorten it, but all it takes is a whip stitch at the 8 inch mark and leaving a bit of a tail behind.
Turn your work inside out to sew the zipper on each side of your pouch opening. I used a sewing machine, but sewing by hand is another option.
Right your work and you are finished! Fill it up and get ready to crochet on the go!

Great idea for the backpack or car camping!
I just took it into the Sawtooths and worked on a project on our rest days 🙂
